About Dr.AG
Dr.AG calls itself a “derma botanist”: a Korean derma skincare brand for sensitive skin. According to the brand, the name comes from the first letters of Asiatica (Centella asiatica, or cica) and Granatum (pomegranate), and stands for putting the plant-derived ingredients from A to G that work best for each skin concern into its products.
The brand is run by Bijou Nine, a company based in Cheongju, Korea. It builds every product on three ideas: Derma plus (targeted functional ingredients), Botanical origin (plant-derived ingredients) and Safety (gentle, naturally derived ingredients for sensitive skin).
Dr.AG’s key ingredients
Cica (Centella asiatica) is the brand’s core ingredient, chosen to gently soothe tired skin. Dr.AG notes its nickname “tiger grass”, from the story of tigers rolling in it to heal their wounds.
PHA (polyhydroxy acid) is the brand’s exfoliating ingredient: a large molecule that gently loosens dead skin cells, which is why the brand recommends it for sensitive and dry skin. Hyaluronic acid rounds out the routine with light, non-sticky hydration.
The CICA calming line
The brand presents its CICA calming line as gentle, everyday soothing care. At Kool Seoul it includes the Cica Hyaluronic Calming Ampoule, the Derma Cica Calming Ampoule, the Cica Calming First Cell Essence, the Cica Repair Peeling Pad and the Cica Repair Cream, which the brand describes as softly soothing skin while caring for hydration.
The Intensive Derma Cica Salve Cream is the richer option: according to the brand, it combines centella and peptides.
The PHA peeling line
Dr.AG’s PHA peeling line is its pore-care line, built around PHA. It includes the PHA+ Galac Peeling Pad, for quick, gentle exfoliation after cleansing, and the PHA Clear Skin Perfecting Ampoule.
Which Dr.AG for your skin?
- New to the brand: start with the Cica Hyaluronic Calming Ampoule.
- Sensitive, easily stressed skin: the CICA calming line.
- Dry skin that needs comfort: the Cica Repair Cream or the Intensive Derma Cica Salve Cream.
- Visible pores, rough texture: the PHA+ Galac Peeling Pad and the PHA ampoule.
How to build a Dr.AG routine
After cleansing: wipe with a Cica Repair Peeling Pad (or a PHA+ Galac Peeling Pad on pore-care days), apply the First Cell Essence, then a cica ampoule, and finish with the Cica Repair Cream. Use sunscreen every morning. New product? Patch test first.
