IU is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress, signed to EDAM Entertainment. She debuted on September 18, 2008 at the age of fifteen with the song “Lost Child” and became one of the most successful solo artists in Korea with “Good Day” in 2010.

She writes most of her own lyrics, and her albums Palette (2017), Love Poem (2019) and Lilac (2021) are among the best-known Korean pop records of their years. The EP The Winning followed in 2024. Her latest release is A Flower Bookmark 3, the third volume of her cover album series, which came out on May 27, 2025. IU's fans are called Uaena, and her official lightstick is named I-KE.
