The story of BT21
2017 · The beginning
BT21 was born in 2017 from the collaboration between the seven members of BTS and the Korean studio LINE FRIENDS. This is no ordinary mascot: each member imagined and drew his own character, with its personality, tastes and little quirks. The name says it all: “BT” for BTS, “21” for the 21st century.
The legend
TATA, the curious prince of Planet BT, dreams of spreading love across the universe. With VAN, his guardian robot, he lands on Earth and meets six companions: KOYA, RJ, SHOOKY, MANG, CHIMMY and COOKY. Together they form UNIVERSTAR BT21, with one goal: to become the most beloved stars in the universe.
Today
BT21 has become a world of its own, far beyond K-pop: plushies, stationery, fashion, home goods and accessories. The characters also exist as BT21 Baby (softer, rounder baby versions) and minini (tiny versions). At Kool Seoul we pick them in Seoul and ship them from Korea.
