BARULAB is a Korean skincare brand run by B&K Co., Ltd., based in Gangnam, Seoul. Its name comes from “baruda”, a pure Korean word that, according to the brand, means to set right what is wrong.

The brand says it started as research into skincare myths and bad skincare habits, with the idea of bringing together the power of nature and the knowledge of science. Many products carry a lab-style number on the pack, like the 001 Oilbiome cleansing oil or the 006 Peptinosine cream.

10-Hyaluron Blue Aqua is BARULAB’s hydration line. According to the brand, it combines eight types of hyaluronic acid for “10-layer” moisture layering. It includes the Blue Aqua Cleansing Gel, the foam-style Blue Aqua Bubble Serum and the light Blue Aqua Gel Cream.

Two Korean ingredients come back often. The Rice Makgeolli Probiotic Yeast range, named after makgeolli, Korea’s traditional rice wine, includes a cream-in essence and a cream-in sheet mask. The Rice Bran Ceramide Cream In Cleansing Pads pair rice bran water and ceramides; the brand presents them as cleansing, gentle exfoliation and moisture in one pad.

The Green Tea products are named after Hadong green tea in their Korean names: the Green Tea Melting Pad, the Hydro Calming Sun Cream and the Airy Calming Sun Stick.

The Clean Vegan toner pads come in a Cica version (natural-origin cica to soothe tired skin, according to the brand) and a Vitamin C version for a fresh, radiant look, plus a single sheet mask. The Steam Sheets Moisture Shield Oil Lock Facial Mask is a two-layer cover mask that the brand presents as a home spa step.

The four lip serums each pair two ingredients: Hyaluronic + Panthenol, Bakuchiol + Peptide, Collagen + Caffeine and Cica + Ceramide.
